Piano, guitar, & Ukulele classes
at Jackson Prep Lower School

601 Studios is pleased to offer these classes at JPLS for JPLS students!

These classes are provided by 601 Studios and classes will meet at JPLS. Payments will be made through the scheduling portal via auto-draft. In this same portal, parents will be able to see the schedule for classes, payment history, send comments to the teacher, and more! Students will participate in an end-of-term recital in the Spring to showcase what they’ve learned in their classes. All students must register for the entire school year.

Classes Offered:

  • Ukulele* ages 3-5: Mondays at 12:30pm

  • Piano* grades 1-4: Mondays at 3:15pm

  • Guitar* grades 1-4: Mondays at 3:15pm

*Ukulele and guitar students will need their own instruments for lessons. We have a partnership with Music & Arts at 1001 Sara Lane in Flowood MS to provide you with the best price possible for instruments. Please contact them for information on renting and/or purchasing instruments. Ukulele students should purchase a soprano ukulele, and guitar students should purchase a 3/4 sized acoustic guitar.

*For piano students there is a $15 sign up fee, which covers the cost of your piano book.

WHO: JPLS Students ages 3-5+ for ukulele and grades 1-4 for piano and guitar.

WHAT: Weekly Piano, Ukulele, and Guitar Class for the School Year. It will culminate with a recital to celebrate student progress!

WHEN: Classes begin September 9 and go through December. After Christmas, classes will resume at the end of January/beginning of February according to what the school calendar allows.

WHERE: TBD

WHY: Music lessons are beneficial for students because they help develop musical skills and knowledge, enhance cognitive abilities such as memory and concentration, improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, foster creativity and self-expression, promote discipline and perseverance, and provide a foundation for future musical endeavors. Music lessons also open the door for future music-related opportunities.

HOW MUCH: $66.75/month ($19/class). You must be an enrolled student at JPLS. The first payment (1 0f 4) is due at sign up, and then charged on the 1st of the following 3 months beginning in September for Fall. For Spring you will be charged 4 payments on the first of each month beginning January 1.

The piano and ukulele classes will be taught by the talented Mr. Trailand Eltzroth! He teaches guitar, piano, and ukulele. Mr. Trailand has a master's degree in Music Composition. He also teaches privately at 601 Studios, Music & Arts Academy and has become a student favorite among our teachers!

The guitar classes will be taught by Mr. Daniel Wolfe! He teaches guitar and has been performing for 12 years! Mr.Daniel enjoys seeing his students progress and meet their goals. He can’t wait to help you get started on your musical journey!
